Roderick McLean is currently at ESPN as a Content Associate and  recently graduated from Hampton University.  Mclean had the opportunity to be a ESPN Plus sideline reporter and do play-by-play and color commentating for sports events. While announcing, Roderick provides pre-game, halftime, and post-game coverage by sideline reporting. Roderick has learned that engaging with the audience is not a talent, but an art. During his time at Hampton University McLean created two shows. They're called "The Final Score" and "Know That HU Pirate". "The Final Score" is a sports debating podcast that allows sports journalism students to express their knowledge of sports in the form of a debate.

"Know That HU Pirate" is another podcast where Roderick sat down and interacted with student-athletes at Hampton University. McLean feels that students only know the athletes at Hampton due to the fact that they're just on the team. "Know That HU Pirate" gives the student-athletes a chance to voice themselves for who they are as human beings.
